Cookie Mueller has an amazing piece called “The Stone of New Orleans” about using a talisman to cure a broken heart. In the end it only kind of works, and the end of the piece points toward the beginning of the real healing process. That is what this collage was, for me. The faded heart in the foreground was cut from a piece of paper I hung in the window of my old apartment for the duration of Venus's time in Taurus, 2022. During the time I worked on it, I dyed my hair pink and orange and wore my shortest skirts to the farmers' market just to feel something. It worked until it didn't, then the real work began.
