Wild Rose
Carved as part of the Temple of Jupiter installation in 2018 and periodically reprinted when I need to summon the energy of a wild rose. Roses are surprisingly hardy plants with fine-tuned natural defenses against predation by animals or unskilled pruning by human beings. Their flowers are beautiful to look at and contain soothing medicinal properties when added to food, and their fruits are rich in vitamin C. I take a lot of inspiration from the behavior of rose plants in my personal life, politics, and artistic practice.
